Tangled Garden

Updated: Sep 25, 2019

I've been dreaming of doing a session like this for a while now, so it has been pretty incredible to see it come to life like this. Marissa Prosper is a first generation Dalhousie Law student, paving the way for future generations and ready to inspire real change in her community. She is seen here showcasing her own hand-made traditional Mi'kmaq jewelry and light pink ribbon skirt. The scenery of the Tangled Garden in Grand-Pré pay beautiful homage to her Indigenous heritage and incredible connection with nature. A huge thank you to Jess from Wedding Whisperer for being my creative second set of eyes for this one, and making sure my vision really came to life.

"I take great pride in who I am and have always been taught to do so. My culture is more than my identity- it is my strength." - Marissa Prosper
