Equestrian Wedding

Gray horse jumping 3' children's hunter at the Coveside Classic horseshow in Chester, Nova Scotia.

Who doesn't love a road trip to the one and only: Prince Edward Island.

I couldn't believe my luck when Maddie and Justin reached out to me, inquiring for their soon to be Equestrian Wedding on the Island. It is always a joy to be part of such a special occasion, especially when it unfolds in such a picturesque setting. They chose to host their celebration at the property of their dear friend Kerry, where their beloved horse, Chevy, is boarded.

The transformation of the indoor arena into a charming wedding reception venue was nothing short of magical. With wall-to-wall flooring laid down and twinkling lights gracefully suspended from the ceiling, the space exuded warmth and rustic charm. For the ceremony, the open field was beautifully adorned, featuring benches that Justin meticulously crafted himself, providing a refined seating arrangement for their guests.

Q: What are some of your fondest memories from the wedding day that still make you smile?

A: We truly appreciated our First Look! It was a lovely private moment shared between us before the wedding celebrations began. Our ceremony was also incredibly meaningful, as it was very personal to us and included some laughter!

Q: What are some small, everyday ways you celebrate each other and your relationship?

A: We always make sure the other isn't hungry! 😂 We truly have unconditional love for one another and are always show up in the good or the bad.

Q: Was there anything unexpected that happened on your wedding day that made it even more special?

A: The day went unbelievably smoothly, which pleasantly surprised us all, but the overcast sky added an unexpected charm that really set a perfect mood for our pictures. The soft, diffused light created an ideal backdrop, enhancing every moment captured.

Q: If you could relive any moment from your wedding day, what would it be and why?

A: Definitely our ceremony! Having our beloved animals included made it feel even more special to us.

Q: What advice would you give to couples who are about to get married?

A: We strongly encourage you to personalize your special day to truly reflect your identity as a couple! No idea is too crazy! If you want your horse at the ceremony—go for it! We have no regrets about any moment of our day or the additional effort it took to make it uniquely ours.
